The Hierarchical Vespers for the Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos took place on Thursday evening August 27, 2015 presided over by His Eminence, Metropolitan Demetrius of America at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos in Clearwater, FL. The choir was directed by Spiro Antonopoulos from Massachusetts. During Vespers the Blessing of the loaves took place and the Lamentations to the Theotokos were chanted. The service finished with a procession around the church.
On Friday Aug 28 the Hierarchical Divine Liturgy for the feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos was celebrated by His Eminence, Metropolitan Demetrius of America. The Byzantine choir was directed by Spiro Antonopoulos.

In considering becoming part of the GOC in America, I am getting warnings from various circles that the attitude of GOC people is that of being “walled off,” “arrogant,” “judgmental,” and “in your face” toward those not in the Genuine Orthodox Church, with accusations such as “World Orthodox” priests are “not even Christians” and the like. Could you give me your personal, realistic assessment of this dynamic and possibly refer me to an official statement on how GOC members should and do relate to and communicate with those in “World Orthodoxy”?
