On Sunday, July 1/14, 2013 His Eminence Metropolitan Moses of Toronto was enthroned in the Cathedral of St. Nektarios, Toronto, Canada.
The enthronement was performed by His Eminence, Metropolitan Chrysostomos of Attica and Boeotia, the representative of the Holy Synod of the Genuine Orthodox Christians of Greece. The enthronement took place during the Divine Liturgy just before the Thrice-Holy Hymn at the synthronon according to a 14th century Book of Rubrics of the Diocese of Karpasia, Cyprus.
“Trust ye not in princes, in the sons of men, in whom there is no salvation.”
(Psalm 145:3)
We mustn’t have absolute trust in human beings for our salvation, no matter what dignity they have. Human beings are changeable. Today they are saints, tomorrow—deniers. Today—sinners, tomorrow—righteous.
